Start by locating a screen. In the center I work in as an engineer we make changes to pieces of equipment. It helps to take a picture before we make changes and after we make changes to compare them. THIS way there is a record and you can undo what changes you made if needed. This also works for cute things online or anything else on your screen.
Hit the Prnt Scrn button at the top right of your keyboard. You will not see any changes but now there is a exact picture of what is on the screen in your copy. Open a picture program which could be as simple as paint and paste. The shortcut for paste is the CTRL key plus the V key. A picture of your desktop will appear within the screen.
Use the edit tools to erase or select and delete any areas that you do not want to share. This is an exact copy and if you have an IM window or other window open it will show in the bars at the bottom of the picture.
Select the file menu and choose save as. Type a name for your picture and a select or browse to the location that you want to save it. This creates a file with the picture inside. You can attach this file to a email the same as any other text or picture file
