How to Build a Laser Security System

If you are tired of your belongings disappearing or you want some way to document you're not as addle-brained as you feared, build your own laser security system. This eHow can help
Build a Circuit for Your Laser Security System
Step 1

Place the microchip on the center of the circuit board as you build a laser security system.
Step 2

Put in the voltage regulator, and connect the leads of the battery to the voltage regulator.
Step 3

Connect two more leads to the regulator, then insert the photo cell and the resistor.
Step 4

Link the photocell and the chip, then insert the relay and connect the chip to the relay also. Connect the remaining side of the relay to the power source.
Take Apart the Camera
Step 1

Take apart the digital camera.
Step 2

Expose the board on the inside of the camera. You should be able to see where the board connects to the trigger of the camera.
Step 3

Remove the circuit board from the inside of the camera as you build a laser security system.
Soldering Wires
Step 1

Pinpoint the terminals on the board from the camera which connected to the trigger button as you build a laser security system.
Step 2

Solder small wires to each of the terminals.
Step 3

Feed the wires through the hole in the trigger button.
Put the Camera Back Together
Step 1

Put the board back inside the camera.
Step 2

Reassemble the camera.
Step 3

Use duct tape to secure the camera, if necessary. Do not obscure the lens.
Position Circuit
Step 1

Choose a soap caddy that looks unobtrusive.
Step 2

Place the circuit from Section One inside the soap caddy as you build a laser security system.
Step 3

Make sure the photocell is behind one of the holes in the soap caddy.
Connect the Battery
Step 1

Connect the battery to the circuit.
Step 2

Place the battery and the circuit inside the box.
Step3

Use tape to keep everything secure.
Attach Wires to Voltage Relay
Step 1

Thread the two wires that run from the hole in the trigger button of the camera.
Step 2

Place the camera beside the soap caddy.
Step 3

Put the wires from the camera through another hole in the soap caddy and connect them to the voltage relay.
Step 4

Turn the soap caddy on its edge so that the photo cell is facing out, and tape the camera to the top of the soap caddy.
The Coat Hanger
Step 1

Cut the coat hanger into small pieces when you build a laser security system.
Step 2

Tape a piece of the coat hanger to the laser pointer to create a stand for the laser pointer.
Step 3

Put another piece of wire coat hanger on the back of the mirrors.
Placing the Camera
Step 1

Place the camera where it is inconspicuous when you build a laser security system.
Step 2

Position the lens of the camera in the direction you wish.
Step 3

Secure the camera firmly in place with tape.
Placing the Mirrors
Step 1

Place the laser pointer in an inconspicuous place.
Step 2

Point it in the direction you wish.
Step 3

Secure the laser pointer in place with tape.
Place the Mirrors
Step 1

Place the mirrors around the items or objects you wish to guard when you build a laser security system.
Step 2

Adjust them until you see that they hit the photocell.
Step 3

Break the beam with your hand to see whether the laser security system you have built works.
Step 4

Produce incontrovertible proof thanks to the digital camera. Is not a picture worth a thousand words?
